Phil has been running Wall End Farm in Great Langdale for over 20 years with his brother, Mike, having taken over from their parents. They lease the farm from the National Trust and have around 800 sheep that graze on the fells encompassing Pike O’ Blisco, Cold Pike, Red Tarn and Crinkle Crags, which form one of the most well known skylines in the Lake District.
'We only put up walls to keep sheep in, we don’t put them up to look at. They’re there for a job aren’t they? They’re there to keep sheep in, an’ if you get rid of sheep, you don’t need walls do you?'
